Possible themes (clusters of art?)
  • Sex/Sexualisation/Gesture, and it’s censorship through the years
  • Portrayal of the human form across space (Asia) and time
  • What makes us human? 
  • Social Stratification based on our appearance (body + clothes?)
  • the naked body and the taboos/meanings that we make out of it → Unnatural nature?? (something like how we attach meanings/ taboo to something natural like the naked body and sex and things associated with it and end up making it very “unnatural”. Like how contraceptives (which are just to prevent STDs and pregnancies) have a dirty connotation to it but in actuality ppl just don’t wanna get knocked up lol) and also how sexual genitalia is obscene but it’s just body parts and they are only obscene because we attach that meaning to them) 



Key intended messages?
  • We are all human lol why do we have so many arbitrary divisions
  • A naked body is not sexual in and of itself!!
  • Nudity is taboo because of the social meanings we attach to it
  • Nudity does not automatically have a sexual connotation to it, it can be pure abstract art that uses nudity as a mere medium to express a whole other meaning
  • To educate the general public to stop over-reacting to art that expresses nudity and not necessarily sex
  • To face the public with the ‘natural’ aspect of sex and nudity and strip it from the ‘taboo’ aspect that is usually assigned to it
  • The idea of apophenia
Should we try to have an activity space to fulfil all the SOCIAL aspects?
  • Don’t know if can realistically get people to undress but if we get a space with a bed, we can have pairs of performers enacting sex artistically (kind of like a choreographed dance). I would be nice to represent all sorts of sexual orientations and even maybe include masturbation. Beds could all be positioned in the center in a circle while the objects form and outer circle.
Venue? 
  • Hospital
  • Substation
  • A place with high visibility, town area etc since the problem we’re facing is the censoring of nudity in art
  • Outside a public toilet ??? (ok idk how the exhibition can succeed if ppl need to use the toilet but it’s associated with nature, the body and sex in a way because it’s gendered) 
  • Geylang Road? Maybe alongside the road outside brothels (for public exposure) or in a brothel even? Could be a commentary on the double sided views on sex (censorship/taboo, but also something that everybody does and that is accepted only in certain private places). This may not be realistically feasible or even legal, idk

We walked hand in hand, our fingers intertwined around the forest, under cover of the trees from the bright midday sun, with the rest of them following us. 2302101018 I feel like a prisoner in my own home. I went outside to sweep the porch and realized my brother wasn’t home and I could’ve gone out and got some blue. And then I remembered what they did to me. I knew I was being spoilt and ungrateful but hell, I’ve never allowed myself to feel any true emotion until recently.
